Beit Lechem Ministries Passover 2024 Information
We are blessed that you will be celebrating Passover with us this year. This page will hopefully help answer any questions you may have.
When: Monday, April 22
Time: Doors open at 5:30 and the service will begin at 6pm.
Please be seated by 6pm so that the service may begin promptly. If you cannot arrive before 6pm, please enter quietly and quickly find your seat.
Where: Beit Lechem Ministries, 1250 Frontage Rd in Fruita
Dress: While there is no set dress code, we do view this as a special and “set-apart” time with the Lord. As such, many of us will be wearing dressier attire: dresses or skirts for ladies, and suits or dress shirts and ties for men.
What to Expect: A Passover celebration traditionally follows a certain order of events. Booklets are provided at each place setting to help everyone follow along. There are parts that will be read by a leader, and other parts where everyone will join in. There are parts for eating certain items and drinking from your cup of juice. While this might seem a little intimidating, don’t worry! It won’t mess up anything if something gets done out of order!
In addition to the Seder Plate holding the biblical items of Passover, we will provide some snack foods on each table to be enjoyed throughout the service. There will be a designated time for the dinner meal to be served later..
In Preparation…During the days before Passover, leavened items are removed from the home. These include all breads, cakes and foods that contain leaven (yeast). Let us also ready our hearts for the Passover Seder, the order of service. Tradition teaches that in each generation, we must consider ourselves as having personally been freed from Egypt. As we prepare for this experience of personal redemption, let us also consider the spiritual leaven, or sin hidden in our hearts, that should be removed alongside the physical leaven.
What About Unleavened? The Feast of Unleavened Bread continues for 7 days after the Passover Seder. During this time, no food containing leaven is consumed, but rather unleavened food is to be eaten every day, (a picture of Jesus/Yeshua), according to the instructions found in Ex 12:14-20, Lev 23:16-25, and Num 28:16-25.
Let us Remember…Passover is a Remembrance
And Moshe said to the people, “Remember this day in which you went out of Egypt-Mitzrayim, out of the house of slavery; by strength of hand יהוה brought you out of this place, and whatever is leavened shall not be eaten.” (Exodus 13:3)
Yeshua kept the feast of Pesach every year. (Luke 2:41)
Yahweh freed you from the bonds of slavery to the systems of this world and death, He broke the yoke and chains. (Deut 5:15, 7:18, 8:2. 15:15)
One of Messiah’s last earthly acts before HIS crucifixion, was to celebrate Pesach/Passover. Gathering his disciples in a small room in Jerusalem, he led them in a Seder.
Luke 22:15 And he said unto them, “With desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer;”
On this night, let us remember not just our ancestors who were freed from slavery, but take the time to remember what you personally have been freed from by the blood of our lamb Yeshua the Messiah/Jesus Christ.
