SUKKOT 2010

Beit Lechem Ministries

“Building for the Harvest”

This year Beit Lechem Ministries has undertaken a huge task—the purchase of property and the construction of our own facility. One of the driving forces behind this decision was to have a place of our own where we could celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles, free from the restrictions and limitations of traditional campgrounds and other facilities. That vision is quickly becoming a reality for our Kahol, and we are all looking forward to a highly blessed and anointed time of worship and celebration together this Fall.

There are many details that still need to be worked out and logistical problems solved—not to mention keeping up with our current construction schedule! As such, we have decided to streamline and simplify things a little bit this year. We’ll be catering more meals, but enjoying more time together. We’ve planned a couple of work days instead of a free day. These are decisions we have made to simplify the planning process while preserving the purpose of this event—to come together as a body to rejoice and honor Yahweh’s feast day, while we remember His provision to the Children of Israel long ago.

As you join us in that vision, please take the time to prepare for this awesome event, not just physically, but spiritually as well. Come with an open heart, ready to worship and to be taught. Come with a servant’s heart, ready to minister to the needs of the body. Come with a joyful heart, ready to celebrate and rejoice in what Yahweh has done in our midst! And don’t come before the LORD empty-handed!

REMEMBERFees this year include:

1) Conference Registration Fee

2) Meal Fee, if you choose to eat with the group.

3) Overnight Camping fees, if you choose to stay on the Property.

  • Conference Registration Fees will help offset the costs of additional construction projects needed to make Sukkot possible on our property this year. These include:
  • Construction of a bath and shower house
  • Erecting a temporary power supply unit
  • Landscape maintenance

  • All Dinner meals and 3 Hot Breakfast meals will be included in the meal fee. Beit Lechem will continue to have the Community Breakfast on the remaining mornings, and as always, lunch is on your own. One refrigerator will be available for tent campers to share. Please bring something to contribute to the Community Breakfast if you plan to partake in this option [e.g. milk, fruit, bread, cereal, muffins, oatmeal, bagels, cream cheese, etc.
  • You may camp in a tent, RV, truck, teepee or your own homemade sukkah, but please come prepared. This is not a campground, and as such Beit Lechem will only be able to provide a limited electrical supply and no Sukkot Camping RVwater hookups. If you’ll be in a tent and want electricity, you will need to provide a good quality (#14 wire) extension cord, preferably 100’ long. Beit Lechem will try to guarantee power to those who need the heat the most (ie, babies or small children), and electrical supply to RVs will only be to power lights, etc, NOT to run heaters. Generators may be used during the day, but need to be turned off at night to respect quiet time hours. There are no water hookups. (Note: potable water is available onsite, just not to individual campsites, and the bathhouse will include 2 bathrooms and 2 showers.) The barn, bathhouse and main tent will be heated areas. sukkot tent camping
  • We’ll be using the “Tribes of Israel” theme to organize help for daily camp chores and activities. Each family will be assigned to a Tribe and will be responsible to help with duties, such as set-up/clean-up, dinner preparation, lighting of the Menorah, etc. You will be assigned a tribe and corresponding shift (or two, depending on logistics) so that we can maintain an orderly camp and schedule. Please let us know when you will be available to serve by filling out the form at the end of the registration packet.

More Information to Come…

  • Daily Schedule of Events – will be completed closer to the Feast date.
  • Meals – We’re going to have more meals catered this year. Final menu will be provided closer to the Feast.
  • Children’s activities – join us for the VBS style children’s program, “Joseph’s Journey”. Please see Christina Frei to find out how you can help with this important part of our Sukkot celebration. Volunteers and supplies are needed, so be on the lookout for announcements about both!
  • Beit Lechem Resource Center –will be set-up in the main meeting tent.
  • Building Work Days – we will be right in the middle of the construction process of our new building during Sukkot, so we’d like to utilize as much help as possible since we’ll all be out there anyway. (We’ll let you know if you need to bring your own hammer…)
  • Invite a Friend – Plan to invite a friend or family member to one (or all) of the activities or teachings. Informational flyers will be available before the feast to give as invitations.
